What's Been Happening!
I hope you are all doing well. A lot has changed in the past 5 months. I haven't been around since late January. I've been adapting to a new way of life like many of you and I've been busy creating.
Over these last 5 months I've been doing a lot of thinking about where I want to be with my photography and fluid art. I love doing both, but for the longest time I couldn't decide on whether or not to keep the fluid art. Photography has always been my first love and will continue to be, but I have grown quite attached to fluid art. I started fluid art paintings when I got myself in a serious rut with my photography and while looking for inspiration I found fluid art. So here's the scoop...I will continue my fluid art and it will be incorporated with my photography on all social media platforms and my website. I always hear from artists that say when selling your art you should focus on one form of art, but I say I'm an artist in photography and fluid art and I will sell both forms of my art. Why limit myself when I know I can do both and be happy doing it.
Now for my website. I have decided not to use etsy any more because I'm finding that their fees are a bit much. So I've chosen to use my website to sell both my photography and fluid art paintings, which is still under construction and will be within the next week or two, but you can still view my website. I still have my Fine Art America shop where you can purchase framed, canvas or home décor such as throw pillow, mugs, shower curtain and more featuring my photography.
Our art shows...as expected there have been a few cancellations. As of now the UMC show at Watchic Lake and the May Flower show (which was rescheduled for June) have both been cancelled and I expect there will be more. I do however have something new to me and to the organization that I belong to. UMC (United Maine Craftsmen) are having their first ever Virtual Craft Fair. As of now I don't have much for details yet, but I do know the date is in mid June. As soon as I get all the details I will let you know.
