Not Sure What To Feel Or What To Do Next
When 2020 began I was so excited for the year to come. Excited about new art shows and creating lots of new artwork. I was ready for a very productive and profitable year. But just the opposite happened.
Everything came crashing down when Covid-19 reared it's ugly head. Like many of you I kept hoping it would end soon, but it didn't. I kept waiting and waiting for a glimmer of hope, but nothing...I wanted to go shopping for props, flower, paint and craft supplies, but going out wasn't an option. So I started into a routine wearing my mask and slowly started to venture out when shops were allowed to open. Things were starting to get better and I was getting more and more productive and then this past week the covid-19 cases are on the rise. I half expect shops to start closing again if we can't get control on this. I can't help but wonder what 2021 will bring. The new normal is wearing a mask where ever I go and keeping my distance. It kind of sucks! But it is what it is.
So where does that leave me and my business? Well I've been doing a lot of thinking about what to do, I love what I do and I don't plan on giving up without a fight!! That is a given, but were art shows are not happening here in Maine, I have to rethink how I want to get the word out there. The only way to do that right now is online. I do have my website and I also have an Etsy Store, Fine Art America Store and now a Redbubble Store. It's a lot of stores, but I gotta get out there somehow. Each store sells similar products like photographs, but they also sell throw pillows, clothing, jigsaw puzzles, pins, totes, bedding, coffee mugs, and more all featuring my photography. With all the stores you can get my photography at any of them, but my fluid art paintings are only available on my website.
The only other thing that will get me out there is using my social media and blogging platforms and to be consistent! Consistency is the key to success or at least that's what I've heard. I know it will take time and a ton of patience, but if I keep plugging at it I will get there!
I have a lot of plans for 2021 and no Covid-19 is going to rain on my parade!
