Back in April, I had purchased a bouquet of Iceland Poppies from Farmgirl Flowers. They came in excellent condition, and I was anxious to photograph them.
The poppies were gorgeous with beautiful textures in the petals, beautiful colors of peach, white, pink, and orange. They didn't last long, but long enough to get some photos.
These two are my favorites. I used a pink background that I made which complimented the flowers beautifully. I process them both in Lightroom and Photoshop. I further processed them in Topaz using impressions to create a painterly quality of these photos.
These are both available to purchase on my website.
Unfortunately, Iceland Poppies here in Maine have already passed for the season. So I hope next year to grow my own and save a little money.
In the meantime, there are plenty of other flowers to photograph.
Stay tuned for my next post "Three Keys."
