Cookies and Tea Please, But Not For Me!

I love chocolate chip cookies! Who doesn't? Now I will love chocolate chip cookies in photographs only.

This "Cookies and Tea Please" photograph was inspired by "The Starless Sea" book I read. The passage was the college students were having a gathering in the library and, the hostess was bringing tea and cookies. When I photographed this, I ate way too many cookies! I photographed this before my weight loss.

I just wanted to touch on a few things about my weight loss that I forgot to mention in my "Major Accomplishment" post. First, I didn't develop any exercise plan because I hate exercising! I've tried many times with different programs. I do get anywhere from 3000 to 8000 steps at work during a five-hour shift. The other thing I wanted to talk about is maintaining, which is the hardest part. Knowing that I have already lost 30 pounds will keep me from going back to my old eating habits. Yes, I have fallen off the wagon and, I get up and brush myself off and get back on and continue my ride. I get that this is a lifestyle change and, I will always have to be fully aware of what I'm eating at all times. A lot of the food I eat I measure to make sure I only take the serving size. For example. Salad dressing (which I make), mayo, dark chocolate, nut snacks, and other similar items. I don't go overboard with fruit because they are high in sugar, although they are natural sugars. I do go crazy with my veggies. You can never have too many veggies, but I make sure I have a good source of protein in my veggie salads like chicken or tuna. If I don't have a protein source, I feel like I still need to eat more.

I've cut out so much bread which, I love, and pasta. If I do need pasta, I use egg noodles instead and substitute spaghetti with spaghetti squash.

There are a lot of good healthy choices, but moderation is key! I have to mix things up as not to get bored with my food.

I'm still discovering different ways to eat healthily, and so far, I've been pleasantly surprised at some of the results.

Stay tuned for my next post, "Iceland Poppies."
